ClinConnect Summary
This clinical trial is studying how mental imagery (the practice of imagining movements) combined with task-oriented training can help reduce kinesiophobia, which is the fear of movement, in patients who have had a stroke. The goal is to see if this combined approach can improve the patients' balance and walking ability. Participants will be divided into two groups: one will receive the training, while the other will not, allowing researchers to compare the results.
To be eligible for this study, participants must be over 45 years old, have experienced a hemiplegic stroke (which affects one side of the body), and score above certain thresholds on specific balance and fear of movement tests. Those who have communication difficulties, serious heart problems, severe joint issues, or other neurological conditions are not eligible. If someone participates in the trial, they can expect to spend about 45 minutes a day, five days a week, for six weeks, engaging in both mental imagery training and task-oriented training to help improve their mobility and confidence in moving.
