ClinConnect Summary
This clinical trial is studying a new resource called the Practice Resource for Driving After Stroke (PReDAS), which helps occupational therapists (OTs) support patients who have had a stroke in making safe decisions about driving. After a stroke, many individuals want to return to driving, but healthcare providers often struggle with how to assess and discuss this important topic. The trial aims to see if providing OTs with the PReDAS improves their confidence and decision-making skills when it comes to addressing driving with their patients.
To participate in the study, OTs must be currently working in an acute stroke unit and not be already involved in the trial or have previously reviewed the PReDAS. Those who join can expect to receive the PReDAS resource and will be asked to share their thoughts on how it affects their confidence and reasoning in discussing driving with stroke patients. This research is important because it could lead to better support for patients as they navigate the challenges of returning to driving after a stroke.
