ClinConnect Summary
This clinical trial is focused on preventing opioid misuse and overdose deaths among Hispanic and Latinx adolescents. The researchers want to create educational resources that help families understand opioids better, including how to store them safely and prevent accidental overdoses. They will be looking at how these resources change families’ knowledge and attitudes about opioids.
To participate in this study, families must identify as Hispanic or Latino/a and have a teenager aged 15 to 17 living at home most of the time. Both parents and teens should be comfortable speaking either English or Spanish. However, families where someone is currently receiving treatment for opioid use or has a substance use disorder will not be eligible. Participants can expect to engage in educational sessions and provide feedback on how helpful they find the information shared. This study is not yet recruiting, but it aims to make a positive impact on the community by addressing opioid misuse in a culturally sensitive way.
