ClinConnect Summary
This clinical trial is studying a new approach to pain management during and after a type of weight-loss surgery called laparoscopic sleeve gastrectomy. The goal is to see if using a method that does not involve opioids (strong pain medications) can improve recovery and reduce nausea and vomiting after the surgery. Researchers are testing a combination of special regional anesthesia techniques and medications that can help manage pain without the use of opioids. This may help patients feel better and recover faster after their surgery.
To be eligible for this trial, participants must be adults aged 18 to 65 who are planning to have elective laparoscopic sleeve gastrectomy and have a body mass index (BMI) of over 30. However, individuals with certain health conditions, such as severe liver or kidney issues, chronic pain, or those who are pregnant, will not be able to participate. Those who join the study can expect to receive a tailored pain management plan during their surgery and will be monitored closely to assess their recovery and any side effects they experience. This trial is currently recruiting participants, and it aims to provide valuable insights into safer alternatives for pain control in surgery.
