ClinConnect Summary
This clinical trial is investigating two different methods for closing ostomy wounds in patients who are ready for closure. An ostomy is a surgical opening created to allow waste to leave the body, and this study aims to find out which closure method is better in terms of preventing infections, improving patients' quality of life, and speeding up the healing process. Participants will either have their ostomy wound completely closed after being cleaned with a special solution called Prontosan, or they'll have a Pursestring closure, where the wound is left slightly open to heal from the inside out.
To join this trial, participants must be at least 18 years old and have a medical need for ostomy reversal. Unfortunately, younger patients and those who cannot provide consent will not be eligible. Those who take part can expect to be monitored closely for their recovery and will contribute valuable information that could help improve care for future patients with similar conditions. This study is currently recruiting participants, and everyone is welcome, regardless of gender.
