ClinConnect Summary
This clinical trial is comparing two types of pain relief methods for patients who have suffered a hip fracture. The study is looking at the effectiveness of an ultrasound-guided PENG block versus a femoral nerve block in providing pain relief for adults coming to the emergency department with this injury. The goal is to find out which method works better in managing pain.
To participate in this trial, you need to be at least 18 years old and have a hip fracture. You must also be willing to give your consent for the procedure. However, some people may not be eligible, including those with allergies to local anesthetics, women who are pregnant or breastfeeding, and individuals with certain medical conditions that could complicate the procedure. If you choose to take part, you can expect to receive one of the two pain relief methods and be monitored for its effectiveness. This study is currently looking for participants, so if you or a loved one are interested, please consider discussing it with your healthcare provider.
