ClinConnect Summary

This clinical trial is exploring the use of virtual reality (VR) to help manage stress and improve recovery for patients undergoing knee surgery for the first time. The study aims to see if watching calming virtual environments, like forests or underwater scenes, can help patients relax and encourage them to move around more easily after their surgery. The researchers will assess how effective this method is by asking participants about their feelings and mobility before and after the VR sessions.

To participate, individuals must be at least 18 years old and undergoing knee surgery for the first time. They should be able to communicate and participate in the study without any physical limitations, such as difficulty moving their arms or serious pain conditions. Participants can expect to wear VR glasses after their surgery and engage in guided breathing exercises in a relaxing virtual setting. This innovative approach could lead to new ways of helping patients manage their symptoms and improve their overall experience during recovery.
