ClinConnect Summary
This clinical trial is studying how two different medications, Propofol and Dexmedetomidine, help prevent a condition called Emergence Agitation (EA) in children who are having squint surgery. Emergence Agitation can cause children to feel restless, confused, and upset after waking up from anesthesia, which is a type of medicine used to make them sleep during the surgery. The trial aims to find out which of these two drugs is better at minimizing these troubling symptoms in children ages 3 to 7.
To be eligible for the trial, children must be between 3 and 7 years old and generally healthy, meaning they are classified as ASA Physical Status Class I or II. They will be monitored closely during and after the surgery to see how well the medications work. It’s important to note that children with certain health issues or allergies to the study drugs will not be able to participate. If you have a child who qualifies and you choose to enroll them, they will be part of a study that could help improve care for kids undergoing similar surgeries in the future.
