ClinConnect Summary
This clinical trial is studying how certain brain signals measured during surgery might relate to the pain patients feel after the surgery. The researchers want to find out if specific brain wave patterns can help predict how severe a person’s pain will be after they have undergone laparoscopic abdominal surgery while under general anesthesia.
To participate in this study, individuals should be between 18 and 80 years old, in good overall health (American Society of Anesthesiologists Performance Status I or II), and scheduled for elective surgery. However, people with certain conditions, like a high body weight, significant mental health issues, or those who have used specific pain medications recently, may not be eligible. If you join the study, you can expect to have your brain activity monitored during your surgery, which could provide valuable information about managing pain after surgery. This research aims to improve how we understand and treat postoperative pain in the future.
