ClinConnect Summary
This clinical trial, called the PAINLESS study, is investigating a way to help reduce pain after a medical procedure called thoracoscopy, which is used to examine the chest. The researchers are comparing two groups: one group will receive a special pain relief technique called an erector spinae plane block (using a medication called Bupivacaine) along with regular anesthesia care, while the other group will only receive the regular anesthesia care. The goal is to see if the pain relief technique makes a difference in how much pain patients feel after the procedure.
To participate in this trial, you need to be at least 18 years old and have been referred for a medical thoracoscopy. However, there are some reasons that might prevent you from joining, such as if you have allergies to certain medications, are pregnant, or have certain health conditions that could make the procedure unsafe. If you do take part, you can expect to be closely monitored during the procedure and to receive care to manage your pain afterward. This study is currently looking for participants to help determine the best ways to support patients during their recovery.
