ClinConnect Summary
This clinical trial is studying a natural supplement called D-Chiro-Inositol (DCI) to see if it can help women with endometriosis. Endometriosis is a condition where tissue similar to the lining inside the uterus grows outside of it, which can cause pain and other symptoms. Currently, the main treatment is surgery to remove these growths, but they can come back, often due to high levels of estrogen in the body. Some women prefer not to take hormone-based medications because they can have side effects and also affect fertility. The trial aims to find out if DCI can lower estrogen levels, potentially reducing the risk of endometriosis returning and helping to manage symptoms without the negative effects of traditional hormone treatments.
To be eligible for this study, participants must be women diagnosed with endometriosis, at any stage of the condition. However, women who have taken hormone treatments or certain other medications in the past three months, as well as those with obesity, diabetes, or cancer, cannot participate. If you join the study, you can expect to take DCI as a supplement and help researchers gather important information on its effects. The trial is currently recruiting women aged 18 and older, so if you or someone you know is interested, it could be a chance to explore a new treatment option for endometriosis.
