ClinConnect Summary
This clinical trial, titled "Endothelial Function in Prehypertension," is exploring how high normal blood pressure, also known as prehypertension, affects the health of blood vessels in the body. Researchers want to understand if prehypertension leads to problems with the blood vessels that could increase the risk of heart disease. They will compare three groups of people: those with prehypertension, those with mild hypertension, and those with normal blood pressure. By studying these groups, the trial aims to uncover how prehypertension impacts blood vessel function and overall heart health.
To participate in this study, you should be an adult aged 25 to 74 with either normal blood pressure, prehypertension (blood pressure between 130-139/85-89 mmHg), or mild hypertension (blood pressure between 140-150/90-100 mmHg). However, individuals with certain health conditions, such as diabetes or heart disease, or those taking specific medications, are not eligible. If you join the trial, you can expect to undergo tests that will help researchers learn more about how blood pressure affects your blood vessels. This important research could lead to better ways to manage blood pressure and reduce the risk of heart-related issues in the future.
