ClinConnect Summary
This clinical trial is looking at a treatment called acupoint thread embedding to see if it can help women lose weight. The study is specifically focusing on obese women, aged 18 to 45, who have a body mass index (BMI) of 24 or higher and a waist circumference of at least 80 cm. Participants should have maintained a stable weight (not gaining or losing more than 4 kg) in the three months before the trial.
If you qualify and choose to join, you will be part of a randomized controlled trial, which means you may receive the treatment or a placebo (a treatment with no active effect) without knowing which one you have. This study will help researchers understand if acupoint thread embedding is safe and effective for weight loss. It's important to note that certain medical conditions and recent treatments may exclude some individuals from participating, such as serious health issues or prior weight loss surgeries. If you’re interested in being part of this trial, you’ll need to sign a consent form agreeing to participate.
