ClinConnect Summary
This clinical trial, titled "Muscle Architecture in Knee Osteoarthritis," is studying the differences in muscle function and pressure in the feet between women with knee osteoarthritis (OA) and healthy women. The researchers want to learn more about how knee OA affects the muscles around the knee and ankle, as well as how weight is distributed on the foot while standing or walking. This information could help improve understanding and treatment options for women suffering from knee OA.
To participate in this study, women aged 45 to 65 who experience knee pain related to activity and morning stiffness lasting at least 30 minutes may be eligible. However, those who have had lower leg surgery, certain medical conditions, or specific treatments for knee pain in the last six months will not be able to take part. Participants will undergo tests that measure muscle thickness and function, as well as foot pressure, using advanced imaging technology. This trial is currently not yet recruiting, but it aims to gather valuable insights that could benefit women with knee OA in the future.
