ClinConnect Summary
This clinical trial is investigating a new technology called Optical Coherence Tomography (OCT) to help diagnose oral cancer and related conditions earlier and more accurately. The researchers are particularly focused on conditions that can lead to oral squamous cell carcinoma, a type of oral cancer. They want to see how well OCT works compared to the traditional method of examining tissue samples under a microscope, which is currently the standard practice. By creating a database of OCT images, the team hopes to develop a system that can quickly and accurately identify changes in oral tissues that may indicate cancer.
To participate in this study, you need to be an adult who has been identified by a healthcare provider as having a potentially malignant oral disorder or oral squamous cell carcinoma. Participants should be able to understand the study and provide consent. If you join, you can expect a non-invasive imaging procedure that looks at the tissues in your mouth. The goal is to improve how we diagnose oral cancer, which could lead to better outcomes for patients. This trial is currently recruiting participants of all genders, aged between 65 and 74, and 36 and 159.
