ClinConnect Summary
This clinical trial, titled "US Imaging for the Assessment of LUTS," is exploring a new way to evaluate lower urinary tract symptoms, particularly in men with benign prostatic hyperplasia (BPH), which is an enlarged prostate condition. The researchers want to see if using ultrasound (a type of imaging that uses sound waves) can effectively assess how the bladder is functioning, similar to an MRI (a different type of imaging) but at a lower cost and with greater availability. The study will involve about 80 participants, and each person will take part for up to 2.5 hours, undergoing both an MRI and an ultrasound.
To participate, you need to be a man aged 18 to 80 who has been diagnosed with BPH or lower urinary tract symptoms. Healthy volunteers who are not experiencing any symptoms can also join, as long as they meet certain criteria. It’s important to note that individuals with specific medical conditions or those who cannot undergo an MRI will not be eligible. If you join the study, you'll have the opportunity to help advance research in this area while receiving a thorough examination to assess your bladder function.
