ClinConnect Summary
This clinical trial is studying how certain immune functions in women with Polycystic Ovary Syndrome (PCOS) might affect how well a medication called metformin works for them. Metformin is often used to help manage symptoms of PCOS, and the researchers want to see if immune markers can predict its effectiveness. They will invite women aged 18 to 45 who have been diagnosed with PCOS to participate.
Eligible participants will undergo an initial assessment where their immune function will be measured using blood samples. Then, those who join the study will take metformin for six months, with follow-up visits to monitor their progress. It’s important to note that women who are pregnant, have certain thyroid conditions, severe kidney or liver problems, cancer, or other specific health issues will not be able to participate. This study aims to better understand how immune health may influence the treatment of PCOS with metformin, potentially leading to more personalized care for women with this condition.
