ClinConnect Summary
This clinical trial is studying a new support program for family caregivers who take care of older adults with cognitive impairments, such as memory problems. The goal is to help caregivers manage the stress and challenges that come with their caregiving roles, improve their mental health, and enhance their quality of life. The program includes 12 sessions over three months, where caregivers will learn strategies from both psychology and occupational therapy. There will also be follow-up sessions to reinforce what they've learned.
To participate, caregivers need to be at least 60 years old and have been the primary caregiver for someone with significant cognitive impairment for at least a year. Participants will be divided into two groups: one will receive the support program, and the other will continue with regular follow-up care. Throughout the trial, caregivers will complete assessments to track their progress and well-being. This study is important because it seeks to provide comprehensive help to caregivers, ultimately benefiting both them and the older adults they care for.
