ClinConnect Summary
This clinical trial is studying a new treatment for oral lichen planus (OLP), a condition that causes painful sores in the mouth and can be hard to treat. The researchers want to see if Daivobet ointment, which contains a type of vitamin D and a steroid, can help relieve the symptoms of OLP. The trial will involve 15 adults aged 30 to 60 who have been diagnosed with erosive oral lichen planus and have not found relief from other treatments. Participants will apply the ointment three times a day for four weeks and will be monitored for changes in their condition.
To be eligible for the study, participants must have specific signs of oral lichen planus confirmed by a biopsy and must not have recently used other medications for this condition. Throughout the trial, researchers will assess how well the treatment works by evaluating the sores in the mouth and asking participants about any discomfort they experience. This trial aims to provide new insights into a potential alternative treatment for those suffering from this challenging condition.
