ClinConnect Summary
This clinical trial, called "Nutrition and Oral Health in Orthopaedic Surgery," is studying how a patient's oral health and diet can affect their recovery after major orthopedic surgery, such as hip, knee, or spine surgery. Researchers are looking at the dental health of 64 adult patients and comparing it to what the patients eat, to understand if there’s a link between the two.
To participate in this study, you need to be at least 55 years old and scheduled for a major elective orthopedic surgery. Both men and women can take part, as long as they can follow the study guidelines and do not have certain medical conditions, like serious mental health issues. If you join the study, you will help researchers learn more about the importance of nutrition and oral health for better recovery outcomes in orthopedic surgery. Your involvement could contribute to important findings that may benefit future patients.
