ClinConnect Summary
This clinical trial is looking at how Active Breathing Exercises can help stroke patients who have trouble with their breathing patterns. The researchers want to see if these exercises can improve swallowing difficulties, known as dysphagia, in patients who have experienced a stroke. Participants will be divided into two groups: one group will receive the usual rehabilitation treatment, while the other group will also practice Active Breathing Exercises.
To join the trial, participants need to be at least 18 years old, have a diagnosed respiratory rhythm disorder related to their stroke, and show some level of swallowing difficulty. They should also have stable vital signs and be able to follow instructions. Patients with other serious neurological conditions or certain medical issues, like severe liver or kidney disease, won't be eligible. While the trial is not yet recruiting, those who participate can expect to receive regular care along with the breathing exercises, which may help improve their swallowing abilities.
