ClinConnect Summary
This clinical trial is looking at how effective a specific procedure called sentinel lymph node biopsy is for patients with recurrent breast cancer on the same side as previous surgeries. The main goal is to find out how often doctors can identify the sentinel lymph node—this is the first lymph node that cancer is likely to spread to—and how this varies among patients who have had different types of previous surgeries. The study also aims to understand the pathways that lymph fluid takes from the affected area, which can help doctors make better treatment decisions.
To participate, patients need to be over 18 years old and have a local recurrence of breast cancer on the same side where they had previous surgeries. They should not have any confirmed spread of cancer to the lymph nodes or other parts of the body. Participants will undergo the sentinel lymph node biopsy and will also receive standard treatments recommended by their healthcare team, such as surgery or additional therapies. This study is currently recruiting participants, and it welcomes individuals of all genders.
