ClinConnect Summary
This clinical trial, called MEPHISTO, is studying how our bodies respond to exercise and diet changes in people living with obesity. The goal is to find out what specific factors help some individuals lose weight more successfully than others. By examining both the body’s overall metabolism and the gut microbiome (the bacteria in our digestive system), researchers hope to identify patterns that can predict who will benefit the most from lifestyle changes aimed at weight loss.
To participate in this study, women aged 25 to 45 with a body mass index (BMI) over 30 may be eligible. However, those with active cancer, diabetes, certain uncontrolled health conditions, or who are pregnant or breastfeeding cannot take part. If you join the trial, you can expect to undergo various tests to measure your metabolism before and after following an exercise and diet program. This research could lead to more personalized and effective weight loss strategies for individuals with obesity in the future.
