ClinConnect Summary
This clinical trial, called the Fetal Autonomic Nervous System Evaluation, is studying how the autonomic nervous system (ANS) of fetuses develops during pregnancy. The ANS is important for many bodily functions, including heart rate and metabolism. By examining the ANS in fetuses, researchers hope to gain insights into their growth and identify any potential issues that may affect their health, especially in cases of pregnancy complications like pre-eclampsia or gestational diabetes.
The study is open to pregnant women between 23 and 40 weeks of gestation who are having a singleton pregnancy (only one baby). Participants will be recruited during routine ultrasound visits and will need to sign a consent form to join. Throughout the study, doctors will analyze the mother's heart activity and other standard monitoring tools to assess the fetal ANS and observe any changes in the fetal heart patterns. This research aims to improve understanding of fetal health and development during pregnancy.
