ClinConnect Summary

This clinical trial is exploring two different ways to manage pain for patients with idiopathic scoliosis who are having spinal fusion surgery. Specifically, it is comparing the effectiveness of a technique called mid-transverse process to pleura (MTP) block, which numbs certain nerves in the back, with intrathecal morphine, a strong pain medication delivered directly into the spinal fluid. The goal is to see which method provides better pain relief after surgery.

To participate in this trial, individuals must be at least 18 years old and diagnosed with idiopathic scoliosis that requires posterior spinal fusion surgery. They should be in generally good health, with no major medical conditions that could complicate the study. Participants can expect to receive either the MTP block or the intrathecal morphine during their surgery, and their pain levels will be monitored afterward to assess which method works better. This study is important because finding effective pain management can significantly improve recovery for patients undergoing this type of surgery.
