ClinConnect Summary
This clinical trial is focused on helping children in Shenzhen, aged 8 to 14, learn better ways to manage their emotions. The researchers want to improve emotional regulation skills, which means teaching children how to understand and control their feelings, ultimately leading to happier and healthier lives. They will also create a guide based on their findings to help professionals working with children in the future. The study involves 200 children who will be randomly divided into two groups: one that receives the intervention and another that waits for the program. Each child will attend four sessions, plus an extra session to reinforce what they've learned.
To be eligible for the trial, children should come from single-parent or low-income families, or be classified as "left-behind children," which typically means they are living separately from one or both parents. It's important to note that children with a history of severe mental health issues or those who have already participated in a similar program cannot join the study. Participants will complete assessments before the program starts, right after it ends, and again one month later, to see how much they've improved. This is a great opportunity for families looking for support in emotional development for their children!
