ClinConnect Summary
This small study is looking at whether a diversified teaching approach can help emergency department nurses improve how they identify how urgent a patient’s condition is and how to classify injuries. It’s a single-group interventional study (no comparison group) with about 22 nurses. The study is led by National Taiwan University Hospital, with Yunlin County as a site example, and recruitment is by invitation.
Who can participate: nurses who have reached Nursing Advanced 2 and are new to triage roles. The trial is open to all sexes and ages (child to older adult) who are healthy volunteers, but those who have not reached Advanced 2 or are not new triage nurses would not be eligible. Participants will take part in six weeks of activities designed to help learning, including reading and marking key points in teaching materials, optional online courses, a triage seminar once per quarter, and interactive sessions. Their progress will be measured with quick tests and checklists, plus a satisfaction survey. There are no drugs or devices involved and no results are yet reported from this trial.
