ClinConnect Summary
This clinical trial, called "Veterans Enhanced Recovery Using Integrative Treatments Around Surgery," is looking at how well a treatment called NSS2-Bridge helps manage pain after knee surgery compared to a technique known as Battlefield Acupuncture. The study is designed for veterans who are scheduled to have knee joint replacement surgery, specifically those aged between 65 and 74, and it is open to all genders.
If you are a veteran planning to have knee surgery, you might be eligible to participate in this trial. However, there are some important factors to consider: individuals who are at risk of bleeding, those with cardiac pacemakers, or who have a skin condition called psoriasis vulgaris will not be able to join. Participants in the trial will receive either NSS2-Bridge or Battlefield Acupuncture to help with pain relief after their surgery. This study aims to find out which method is more effective in helping veterans recover comfortably after their operation.
