ClinConnect Summary
The clinical trial titled "Ultra-High Frequency intraOral UltraSonography of the TONgue" (HOUSTON) is exploring a new way to help diagnose oral squamous cell carcinoma, a type of mouth cancer. Researchers are looking into using a special imaging technique called intraoral ultra-high frequency ultrasonography, which can create detailed pictures of the soft tissues inside the mouth. This method could help doctors better understand the nature of oral lesions and possibly lead to a more accurate diagnosis without needing more invasive procedures.
To participate in this study, individuals must be diagnosed with oral squamous cell carcinoma and be eligible for surgery. Unfortunately, people with other types of oral lesions, those who are pregnant or breastfeeding, or those with uncontrolled chronic illnesses cannot join. Participants in this trial will undergo imaging tests that are designed to be less invasive while providing valuable information about their condition. This trial is currently recruiting participants, and it aims to improve how doctors diagnose and manage oral cancers in the future.
