ClinConnect Summary
This clinical trial is studying the use of blue light therapy to help women who experience vulvodynia, a condition characterized by long-lasting vulvar pain that doesn't have a clear cause. The trial aims to find out if this type of light treatment can reduce pain and improve quality of life for women suffering from this condition. To participate, women must have a diagnosis of vulvodynia and be between certain age limits. However, those with vaginal infections, certain neurological diseases, or who are pregnant cannot join the study.
Participants in the trial can expect to undergo a series of assessments before and after receiving the treatment. They will fill out questionnaires about their pain and sexual function and will be evaluated by a physiotherapist for sensitivity and muscle function in the pelvic area. The treatment involves eight sessions of blue light therapy, which will be applied externally. After the treatment, participants will again answer questions to help researchers understand any changes in their pain levels and overall satisfaction with the therapy. This research could offer new hope for women struggling with vulvodynia.
