ClinConnect Summary
This clinical trial is studying how heart rate variability (HRV), dehydration, and performance relate to each other in amateur Muay Thai athletes. HRV measures how well your heart responds to stress and recovery, which is important for athletes to understand their training needs. The researchers want to see if changes in hydration levels affect HRV and how well athletes perform in a specific kicking test after an eight-week training program. This study hopes to provide insights that could help athletes train more effectively and recover better.
To participate, you need to be a male amateur Muay Thai athlete from the Curitiba area, at least 18 years old, and have been training for at least six months. Participants will undergo various assessments before and after the training period, including measuring heart rate variability, body composition, and performance in a kicking test. It's important to note that individuals with certain health issues, such as uncontrolled high blood pressure or those who are pregnant, cannot participate. This trial is not yet recruiting participants, but it aims to shed light on the important relationship between hydration and athletic performance in Muay Thai.
