ClinConnect Summary
The Rheumatology Diet Study is looking into how the diets of patients with autoimmune diseases, like rheumatoid arthritis and lupus, affect their symptoms and overall health. Researchers want to understand if patients change their eating habits after being diagnosed, and if these changes make them feel better. They will also explore what patients expect from their doctors regarding dietary advice and what resources they use to learn about healthy eating. The hope is that those who shift to healthier diets, like the Mediterranean diet, may experience fewer symptoms of their illness.
To participate in this study, you need to be an adult over 18 years old, a patient at UCF Health, and diagnosed with one of the mentioned autoimmune diseases. However, individuals over 65, children, pregnant women, and certain other groups are excluded from participating. If you join the study, you can expect to share your experiences with diet and health, and your insights might help improve dietary recommendations for others with similar conditions. This study is currently recruiting participants, so it’s a great opportunity to contribute to important research while learning more about how diet can impact your health.
