ClinConnect Summary

This clinical trial is exploring how using immersive virtual reality (a technology that creates a realistic experience) combined with physical exercises can help older adults in the hospital who have difficulty with daily activities. The study is taking place in a hospital in Spain and aims to see if these new methods can improve both the thinking skills and physical abilities of patients aged 75 and older during their stay. Researchers hope that this innovative approach will enhance the patients' quality of life.

To participate in the study, individuals must be over 75 years old, have significant challenges with daily functions when they arrive at the hospital, and be able to communicate with the research team. Those with severe dementia or other serious conditions will not be eligible. Participants will be divided into four groups: one group will not receive any intervention, while the other three will either experience virtual reality, do physical exercises, or participate in both activities. At the end of the study, researchers will assess various factors such as cognitive function, mood, and overall quality of life to understand the impact of these interventions. This study aims to find new ways to improve the well-being of hospitalized older adults.
