ClinConnect Summary
This clinical trial is looking at different surgical methods for treating injuries to the anterior cruciate ligament (ACL), which is an important ligament in the knee. The main goal is to compare two techniques: one is a single-bundle ACL reconstruction combined with repair of another ligament called the anterolateral ligament (ALL), and the other is a double-bundle ACL reconstruction also combined with ALL repair. Researchers want to find out which of these methods provides better knee stability, helps patients recover functionally (like returning to sports), and has lower chances of the ACL tearing again after surgery.
To participate in this trial, you need to be at least 18 years old and planning to have ACL surgery. You will first undergo some tests, including an MRI and evaluations of your knee's stability and motion. After that, you will be randomly assigned to one of the two surgical groups. Following the surgery, you'll have follow-up appointments at 6 months and 1 year to check on your recovery and knee function. This study is currently recruiting participants, and it welcomes all genders. If you or someone you know is considering ACL surgery, this trial may offer valuable insights into the best surgical options available.
