ClinConnect Summary
This clinical trial, called COMET-Y, is looking at how a special training program can help improve self-esteem in young people aged 11 to 18 who are dealing with mental health issues. The main question researchers want to answer is whether the COMET-Y program, when used alongside regular care, can help these adolescents feel better about themselves. To find this out, participants will fill out questionnaires before and after the training that measure things like self-esteem, mental health, and overall quality of life. They will also keep diaries to track their feelings and progress.
To be eligible for this study, participants need to speak Dutch well enough to understand the questions, be between 11 and 18 years old, and have low self-esteem as indicated by a specific score. They should also be currently receiving treatment for a mental health condition like anxiety or depression. However, those who need immediate help for serious issues, such as a crisis or suicidal thoughts, cannot participate. Throughout the trial, participants can expect to attend weekly sessions for the program and complete some homework assignments to reinforce what they learn. This trial is still recruiting participants, so there is an opportunity for eligible youth to join and potentially benefit from this new approach.
