ClinConnect Summary
The Dialogue Study is a clinical trial exploring a new type of therapy using virtual reality to help people with eating disorders, specifically those with anorexia nervosa or bulimia nervosa. In this study, 96 participants will be divided into two groups: one group will receive the virtual reality therapy along with regular treatment, while the other group will only receive the regular treatment. The goal is to see if the virtual reality therapy can provide additional benefits. Participants will be assessed at the beginning of the study and again after 12 and 24 months to monitor their progress.
To be eligible for this trial, participants must be at least 18 years old, be able to understand and agree to the study, and have a diagnosed eating disorder. It is important that they can recognize an internal voice related to their eating disorder. However, individuals who cannot identify this voice, have certain mental health conditions, are at risk for serious health issues, or don’t speak Danish or English well enough to participate in therapy will not be included. If you join the study, you'll have the chance to try a new therapy that aims to improve your understanding and management of your eating disorder, all while being supported by healthcare professionals throughout the process.
