ClinConnect Summary
This clinical trial is exploring how "relaxing touch" can help patients who are sedated and on a breathing tube (intubated) in the intensive care unit (ICU). The goal is to see if this gentle touch can reduce the need for medication to keep patients calm when they wake up and are ready to have the breathing tube removed (extubation). The study is taking place at Niort Hospital and is currently looking for participants.
To join this trial, you need to be at least 18 years old, be intubated and sedated, and be expected to have the breathing tube removed within 48 hours. You also need to have been intubated for more than 48 hours in total and be a patient in the ICU at Niort Hospital. Importantly, a trusted person, like a family member, must agree to your participation. If you meet these criteria, you may be able to help researchers understand how touch can improve the recovery experience for patients in the ICU.
