Body Awareness Spinal Stability

ClinConnect Summary

This clinical trial is looking at how body awareness affects spinal stability in people with scoliosis, a condition where the spine curves abnormally. Researchers will include 30 volunteers who have been diagnosed with idiopathic scoliosis, which means the cause of their condition is unknown. To participate, individuals must be between the ages of 6 and 17 or 23 and 40, and their spinal curvature, measured by a special x-ray called the Cobb angle, should be between 10° and 45°. People with other major spine or nerve issues, or those who have had spine surgery, cannot take part in the study.

Participants will undergo tests to measure their spinal stability and complete a survey to gauge their body awareness. These assessments will take place at the Orthopedic Rehabilitation Clinic at Gazi University. The goal of this study is to understand how being aware of one’s body may relate to the stability of the spine in those with scoliosis, which could help improve treatment and exercise programs in the future. If you or someone you know is interested, it’s important to know that the trial is not yet recruiting participants.
