ClinConnect Summary
The CONNECT trial is focused on improving the way we recruit and engage diverse participants in cardiovascular research. This study aims to involve more women and Black and Latino adults who have cardiovascular diseases or risk factors like high blood pressure, diabetes, or being overweight. By using electronic health records and community outreach, CONNECT will help identify and invite eligible adults to participate. Those who join will receive helpful information about heart health and clinical trials through text messages for a full year.
To be eligible, participants need to be at least 18 years old, live in the U.S., and identify as having cardiovascular disease or risk factors. They should also have a mobile phone and be comfortable receiving text messages in English or Spanish. By participating in CONNECT, individuals can expect to learn more about clinical trials, feel more trust in the process, and even be connected to ongoing studies that match their interests. This initiative is currently recruiting participants and aims to make cardiovascular research more inclusive.
