ClinConnect Summary

The Mediastinal EBUS Cryobiopsy Study in Sweden is a clinical trial that aims to improve how doctors diagnose conditions like lung cancer, sarcoidosis, and tuberculosis by comparing different biopsy techniques. In this study, all participants will undergo a procedure called EBUS (Endobronchial Ultrasound) that allows doctors to take samples from lymph nodes in the chest. The goal is to see how many samples are needed to get a clear diagnosis and to understand how adding a technique called cryobiopsy (which uses extreme cold to gather tissue samples) can improve the results compared to just the standard method.

To be eligible for this study, participants must be adults over 18 with enlarged lymph nodes that are at least 1 cm wide and need further evaluation. They should be in stable health and able to consent to participate. After the procedure, participants will be monitored for four weeks to check for any complications. This study is currently recruiting, and all participants will be treated with the same procedure, allowing researchers to gather valuable information on the effectiveness of these biopsy methods.
