ClinConnect Summary
This clinical trial is looking at a new way to support teenagers who are struggling with thoughts of suicide. It aims to evaluate a digital program that shares stories of recovery from other young people who have faced similar challenges. The goal is to see if these personal narratives, delivered through a smartphone app, can help reduce suicidal thoughts among adolescents living in underserved communities in The Bronx, NY.
To participate in this study, young people aged 11 to 17 who have experienced suicidal thoughts or major depression in the past month may be eligible. Participants will need to have a smartphone and a data plan to use the app. Unfortunately, those who cannot read or write in English, or who are experiencing severe mental health issues like mania or psychosis, will not be able to join. If eligible, participants can expect to engage with the digital program and share their experiences, contributing to an important effort to improve mental health support for youth.
