ClinConnect Summary

This clinical trial is studying how a special type of training called Immersive Mixed Reality (MR) can help doctors in training, specifically anesthesiology trainees, develop empathy. Empathy is the ability to understand and share the feelings of others, which is crucial in healthcare. The study will measure changes in empathy using a standardized questionnaire before and after the trainees go through the MR simulation experience. Participants will also provide feedback on how valuable they found this training exercise.

To be eligible for this study, participants must be 18 years or older and work or volunteer at Lucile Packard Children's Hospital or Stanford Health Care. However, those with severe motion sickness, current nausea, a history of seizures, or discomfort wearing a weighted vest will not be able to participate. If you join this study, you can expect to engage in a unique training experience aimed at improving your understanding and connection with patients. Your feedback will also help shape future empathy education for healthcare professionals.
