ClinConnect Summary
The "Sleep Well Despite Persistent Pain Symptoms" trial is studying how a special group program can help people who have both chronic pain and insomnia, which is trouble sleeping. Many patients with chronic pain also struggle to sleep well, and this can make their pain and overall quality of life worse. The trial is comparing this new Sleep-Well program, which focuses on teaching better sleep habits and strategies, to standard treatments that often involve medications. Researchers want to see if the Sleep-Well program can improve sleep quality and reduce insomnia symptoms more effectively than usual care.
To join the study, participants need to be adults who have been diagnosed with chronic non-cancer pain and also have insomnia. They should not be using high doses of certain pain medications or involved in any insurance claims related to their health condition. During the trial, patients will attend group sessions led by therapists, learning techniques to improve their sleep and manage pain better. Those in the control group will have the chance to join the Sleep-Well program after three months. This trial is currently recruiting participants and aims to provide valuable insights into helping those who struggle with both pain and sleep issues.
