ClinConnect Summary
This clinical trial, called ExerMOT-NH, is studying the effects of two types of physical exercise programs on the health and well-being of seniors living in nursing homes. One group will participate in face-to-face exercise sessions, while another group will take part in online exercise sessions. A third group will receive general advice on how to stay active without participating in structured exercise. The goal is to see which method helps improve physical health, mental health, and overall quality of life for older adults.
To be eligible for the trial, participants need to be over 65 years old, pass a simple cognitive test, and be able to walk a short distance. Those with serious health issues that could make exercise unsafe will not be included. Participants can expect to join a 24-week exercise program, attending sessions twice a week, either in person or online. The study will track their progress and any challenges they face, with the ultimate aim of helping nursing homes create better opportunities for physical activity among their residents.
