ClinConnect Summary

This clinical trial, titled "Obesity With Sperm Quality in Men With Fertility Need," is designed to explore how different types of obesity affect sperm quality in men who are trying to conceive. The study will involve men aged 65 to 74 and will categorize participants into three groups based on their body weight: those with a normal weight, those who are obese without extra fat around the testicles, and those who are obese with that extra fat. By comparing the sperm quality of these groups, researchers hope to understand how obesity impacts fertility.

To participate, men must have fertility needs and fall into specific weight categories (normal or obese). They will need to agree to take part in the study by providing informed consent. However, individuals with certain medical conditions affecting fertility, or those currently receiving infertility treatments, will not be eligible. The trial is not recruiting participants yet, but once it begins, those who qualify can expect to have their sperm quality assessed and compared to help shed light on the relationship between obesity and fertility.
