ClinConnect Summary
This study is looking into how common chronic pain is in children after they have surgery and what factors might contribute to it. Researchers want to better understand how many kids experience this type of pain, what causes it, and how it affects their lives. To do this, children aged 0 to 16 who are having certain types of surgeries will fill out questionnaires before their surgery and again at different times up to one year afterwards.
To participate, children must be scheduled for specific surgeries, like circumcision or appendectomy. However, families who cannot understand the questionnaires in English or have significant developmental delays may not be eligible. By joining this study, participants can help researchers learn important information about post-surgical pain in children, which could lead to better treatments in the future.
