ClinConnect Summary
This clinical trial is studying how exercise during pregnancy can help prevent or reduce postpartum depression (PPD). PPD is a type of depression that many new mothers experience, which can make them feel sad, uninterested in their baby, or anxious about their ability to care for their child. The researchers want to see if regular exercise can improve the mental health of women during and after pregnancy, as exercise has been shown to help with mood and overall well-being.
To participate in this trial, women should be between the ages of 20 and 40 and have a low-risk, single pregnancy (not expecting multiple babies). However, those with certain health issues, history of severe depression, or who are already very active in sports may not be eligible. Participants can expect to engage in moderate exercise for about 30 minutes nearly every day, which is recommended by health experts for improving both mental and physical health during this important time.
