ClinConnect Summary
This clinical trial is studying a new computer program designed to help doctors make better decisions about preventing strokes in patients with atrial fibrillation (AF), a heart condition that increases the risk of stroke. The aim is to see if this program can encourage more doctors to prescribe anticoagulants, which are medications that help prevent blood clots and strokes. The trial will involve several community medical centers and will look at both stroke prevention and managing the risk of bleeding from these medications.
To participate in the trial, you must be at least 18 years old and have been diagnosed with atrial fibrillation or flutter. Additionally, if you're male, your risk score for stroke must be 2 or higher; if you're female, your score must be 3 or higher. A key point is that you should not currently be taking any anticoagulant medications. Participants in the trial can expect to receive more personalized care and attention regarding their stroke risk and treatment options. This study has not started recruiting participants yet, but it aims to improve how strokes are prevented in everyday healthcare settings.
