ClinConnect Summary

This clinical trial is studying a new way to manage patients with a heart condition called atrial fibrillation (AF), specifically those who are thought to have a form called persistent AF. Sometimes, patients scheduled for a procedure called electrical cardioversion (ECV) find out that their AF may actually be a different type that could resolve on its own, which means they might not need the procedure after all. This trial uses a mobile health app called FibriCheck to monitor patients' heart rhythms remotely. By doing this, the goal is to reduce unnecessary trips to the hospital, saving time and resources for everyone involved.

To participate in the trial, you need to be at least 18 years old, have a diagnosis of presumed persistent AF, and be scheduled for an ECV. You’ll also need a smartphone and be comfortable using the mobile app. Participants will receive support and monitoring through the app, which allows for easier management of their condition without needing to come to the hospital as often. This trial is currently recruiting participants, and everyone is welcome to apply, regardless of gender. If you think you might be eligible, it’s a good idea to talk to your doctor for more information.
