ClinConnect Summary
This clinical trial, called the JuniorDoc-VL-Trial, is studying two different methods of a procedure called endotracheal intubation (ETI), which is important for doctors, especially anesthesiologists, to secure a patient's airway during surgery or emergencies. The trial is comparing traditional direct laryngoscopy, where doctors use a handheld tool to see the airway directly, with video laryngoscopy, which uses a camera to help doctors see the airway on a screen. The goal is to find out which method helps doctors, especially those in their first year of training, achieve success in intubating patients on their first attempt.
If you are a first-year anesthesiology resident, you might be eligible to participate in this trial. Participants will receive training in both intubation methods and will be tracked after performing 200 intubations to see how well they do with each technique. The trial is currently recruiting participants, and it aims to improve training standards and potentially enhance patient safety during procedures that require intubation.
